National solar mission: final draft as on 18 July 2009

The draft of India’s ambitious National Solar Mission plan under the National Action Plan on Climate Change approved by the Prime Minister of India on 3rd Aug 09. The plan has an ambitious target of generating 20,000 MW solar power by 2020 and this mission document describes the mission strategy in three phases.
Under the National Action Plan on Climate Change, in a step forward, the Solar Mission got nod from Prime Minister of India on 3rd Aug 09. The main objective of this mission is to establish India as a global leader in solar energy. It sets target of 20,000MW solar power by 2020. The mission document describes the mission strategy which is in three phases, roadmap to the target, policy and regulatory framework for solar generation, research and development, human resource development, international collaboration, detail of the funds required.
