Climate change will have a major impact on agricultural production, comparative advantages, and trade flows. A greater divergence between regions in terms of agricultural output is likely.
Climate change is now recognized as one of the defining challenges of the 21st century, and protecting health from its impacts is an emerging priority for the public health community. Further, the potential range and magnitude of associated health risks should be central to the rationale for actions to mitigate the occurrence of climate change.

Early studies on the potential impacts of climate change indicated that agriculture was not likely to be severely affected, as carbon fertilization and trade flows were thought to be able to compensate for any productivity declines related to climate change. Recent work, however, has raised doubts about whether carbon fertilization laboratory test results can be replicated in the field.
Climate Justice for a Changing Planet: A Primer for Policy Makers and NGOs considers how to move towards a climate justice agenda. The focus of this special issue is communitybased adaptation to climate change. Its publication is timed to coincide with the forthcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP 15) to be held in December, in Copenhagen, Denmark, and events surrounding it.
This document argues that climate change promises serious negative impacts on agricultural systems. These same systems and the natural resources that support them are already under severe strain from over-exploitation, the current climate, and multiple other stresses.
This publication, prepared in preparation for the Copenhagen UN Conference on Climate Change (2009) illustrates the willingness of France to mobilize all actors in society, including scientific, institutions and civil society, in the debate about climate change mitigation and adaptation.
