At least four people were killed after being buried in a landslide caused by incessant rainfall at Tibling VDC in Dhading district on Tuesday night. According to police, one of the deceased has been identified as Lakshya BK. Details are yet to be ascertained as the site is some three days walk away from the district headquarters Dhading. A police team has been sent to the site, the district police office informed. Landslides and floods claim about a hundred lives every year during the monsoon season in the country.
At least four people have been killed in a landslide in a remote village in northern part of Dhading district last night. At least 15 people, including seven women and four children, were killed today in landslides across Arunachal Pradesh following incessant rains for the last 30 hours, throwing the transport and telecommunication networks out of gear. Police said rescue operations were being hampered by the continued downpour, adding that the casualties could increase to over 20. The casualty figure were so far available from Itanagar, Nirjuli and Naharlagun only, with the other areas of the State still inaccessible through roads or telephone.
