KRISHNAGIRI: In case of natural disaster such as flood, public can inform the collectorate over the toll free telephone number 1077. Action plan for 36 flood-prone districts
An action plan is being chalked out in the state for flood relief and rescue at the district level. If the flood situation arises in any district during the ensuing monsoon, the administration of the concerning district can act as per the action plan speedily and effectively. As many as 36 districts of the State have been identified as flood-prone.

Ahead of monsoon, notice to save trees goes unnoticed
Mumbai Monsoon storms, besides bringing rain to the city, are often accompanied by winds strong enough to uproot trees. In order to minimise cases of trees getting uprooted this year, the Tree Authority had in April issued a notice to the BMC ward offices asking them to build a 2-foot tree basin, around every tree, and fill it with soil.
