July 27: Complimenting the Union finance minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee, for presenting a progressive Budget, the Congress MP from Peddapalli, Mr G. Vivekananda, appealed to the Centre to increase the allowance of underground mine workers from Rs 800 to Rs 1,700. Speaking on the Finance Bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday, Mr Vivekananda said the hike will help the the miners.
