JORHAT: One rhino was killed by poacher in Jorhat district and the horn, nails were taken away by the poacher. As per report received, the Jorhat forest department officials patrolling around the sides of Brahmaputra and in Majuli found the body of a male rhino at Kartik Chapori amidst Brahmaputra at about 3.30 pm today. According to the forest officials, two bullets were found in the body of the rhino. It was suspected that the rhino was killed last night by poachers. In this regard a case has been registered and nobody was apprehended so far.
