Another hitch for Aamir in chinkara case
Abmedabad: Bollywood star Aamir Khan will have to overcome another hitch in his chinkara filming case in blockbuster `Lagaan', as the complainant has approached Gujarat High Court demanding that the stay on investigation in this case be vacated. High court had stayed investigation and court proceedings initiated by a magisterial court in Bhuj in June last year.

Rescued turtles go missing from zoo
Two turtles, rescued from a city market and gifted to the zoo by a teenager, have gone missing from their enclosure and the authorities have no clue how. Asish Chowdhury, who appeared for the ISC from La Martiniere for Boys this year, bought the turtles for Rs 70 from a market off the EM Bypass and deposited them at the zoo in end-2007.

A man was arrested on Tuesday in Lahore city by the Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department for illegally capturing and trading wild lizard species. According to a World Wide Fund for Nature-Pakistan (WWF-P)s spokesman, Khushi Muhammad, a local belonging to Lahore, was arrested when over a dozen protected spiny tail lizards were found in his possession.

Elephant shot dead
PALANI: An unidentified gang shot a 30-year-old male elephant and removed its tusks in the reserve forests here on Monday night. Forest officials and veterinary doctors inspected the carcass of the elephant on Tuesday and informed that the gang had used acid to remove the tusks. One bullet was removed from the dead animal.
