  • Montenegro Introduces Eco-Tax For Tourist Cars

    Montenegro will launch a new green tax this summer for all foreign cars, buses and trucks entering the Adriatic state to try to protect its environment, officials said on Monday. Tourism Ministry spokeswoman Jelena Paovic said the tax, effective from June 15, will be 10 euros for cars and mini-buses and between 30 and 150 euros for trucks, buses and other larger vehicles depending on their size and power. Drivers can pay at the border and will get a sticker for their cars as proof of payment, valid for one year.

  • Spice tourism planned in Dindigul village

    The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) will promote spice tourism at Thadiyankudisai in the Kodaikanal block of Dindigul district.   • Centre sanctions Rs 17,468.72 lakh for tourism in NE

    The Centre has approved 86 tourism projects for north-eastern States, including 11 for Tripura, during 2007-08 and released Rs 13,970.58 lakh out of the total sanctioned amount of Rs 17,468.72 lakh for the region. Official sources said here today that the Union Tourism Ministry had accorded top priority to development of tourism in the region as it had great potential for employment generation and economic growth.

  • Lake to be developed as tourist spot

    The famous Samaguri lake, popularly known as Samaguri beel, covering an area of 64 hectares is to be converted into a scenic tourist spot. It has been learnt that the Government of Asom has sanctioned an amount of Rs 3 crore for the proposed project. To attract both local and foreign tourists, the Tourism Department has put a proposal to construct an ethnic village representing ethnic groups like Karbi, Dimasa, Missing, Tiwa et al depicting their traditional customs and culture within the ambit of the project.
