Pune A crop protection lobby, the Agrochemicals Policy Group (APG), has appealed to the State Agriculture Minister to crack down on spurious pesticide manufacturers. They have alleged that spurious chemicals have led to crop losses of over Rs 1,100 crore in the state.

This results in a net loss to the farmers of crops worth about Rs 6,000 crore. These estimates have been compiled by the Agrochemicals Policy Group (APG), a pesticides industry body that aims to promote the safe use of plant protection chemicals.
