CHENNAI: The environment awareness contest for school students organised by Young Indians (Yi), the youth arm of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), has gone national this year, and will involve an estimated 2,000 schools across 17 cities. The contest seeks to sensitise children to the values of ecological conservation. The deadline for project submission is August 15. School students can pool their ideas about greening their campuses through energy- saving and water conservation solutions and submit the projects to Yi.

Pune June 29 The Ecological Society has commenced the admission process for the one-year postgraduate diploma in Natural Resource Management, Sustainable Development and Ecological Restoration. According to a press note sent by the Society, the objective of the course is to impart training in sustainable use of natural resources.
