Climate change, its impacts and possible community based responses in Bangladesh
Bangladesh is one of the most vulnerable countries to climate change and negative effects are already taking place. Increasing temperatures, increased precipitation, thermal expansion of the Bay of Bengal and melting of the glaciers in the Himalayas
will all have great impacts for Bangladesh and with a high population density in a low lying country it will suffer constraints throughout the 21st century. Bangladesh being largely dependent on the agricultural sector for domestic consumption is facing changes in weather patterns created by careless emission of greenhouse gases of the
developed world. This paper is an updated version of the previous publication What is Climate Change & How it may affect Bangladesh which attempts to summarise current international and national literature on climate change.
