WRONG CONNECTIONS
Manufacturers of silicone breast implants were vindicated recently when a us court ruled that evidences suggesting a link between silicone implants and some of the illnesses they have been blamed for, were not scientifically valid. Silicone has been blamed for a wide range of connective-tissue ailments and for damaging the immune system. Last year, several academic and public studies questioned the harmful effects of these implants. Three years ago, nearly 400,000 women had lodged claims for compensation in a funding scheme which would have been the biggest product liability case.
