LOAD SHEDDING
Henceforth, all cases relating to pollution pending with the Supreme Court of India, will be dealt by the high courts of the respective states. This was decided by the apex court in a ruling given last month. The judges also transferred a case involving tanneries in the North Arcot district of Tamil Nadu to the Madras high court. The apex court noted that any delay in cases related to pollution would prove costly for industries and the high courts were better equipped to deal with them as the matters raised have serious local ramifications.
