Urban mobility: strategies for liveable cities

Within the HABITAT process the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) is increasing its engagement in urban mobility. This new publication contains touches upon a multitude of important aspects on mobility planning such as: Promoting the A(void)-S(hift)-I(mprove) approach; Integration of urban and transport planning; Financing new sustainable urban mobility solutions; Capacity development by applying 15 years of SUTP experience in the field; and Advertising the advantages of digitalisation which facilitates new concepts of efficiency and use. To support their efforts, the BMZ has launched the Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI) together with numerous partners at the Habitat-III conference in Quito, supporting activities in the field of sustainable urban mobility towards liveable cities around the globe.
