Energizing rural Nepal: ESAP overview report 2013
The Government of Denmark joined hands with Government of Nepal in 1999 to support for the renewable energy sector through the Energy Sector Assistance Programme (ESAP) under Alternative Energy Promotion Centre, Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment for the five years with the objective of "improving the living conditions of rural populations by creating access to better performing energy technologies which are productive, versatile and that do not have negative impact on environment". ESAP I and II have provided clean energy solutions to more than 1.1 million households mainly in rural areas of Nepal including, electricity and other proposes such as cooking, heating and agro processing.
