Power to generate over Rs 12,000 cr revenue in Arunachal by 2020
The huge untapped natural resources in Arunachal Pradesh when harnessed would make it a front ranking State, Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu said today. NEEPCO gets go ahead for 500 MW thermal project
The Meghalaya government has okayed the execution of the 500 MW thermal power project by the state-run North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO). "One per cent of the project cost would be used for the development works in the project area in the East Garo Hills district," Meghalaya Power minister Mukul Sangma told reporters after a cabinet meeting last night.

Hyderabad, Feb. 1: The Power Finance Corporation has decided to build its second Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) in the state. The 4,000 MW project would be constructed at Nayanapalli in Vetapalem mandal in Prakasam district. With this, the state has attracted nearly 20,000 MW capacity in less than five years.

ONGC finds oil in Syria blocks
ONGC Videsh Ltd, the overseas arm of state- owned Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC), has made two significant oil discover- ies of 185 million barrels of oil in a block in northeast- ern Syria. OVL and its partner IPR Mediterranean Exploration Ltd discovered Rashid and Abu Khashab oilfields in Block-24, the company said in a statement here.
