Mumbai: Mumbai airport has been a hub of construction activity for the last two years, and it has been a common occurrence that contract workers have unwittingly cut underground electric cables, thereby leading to blackouts on the taxiways. In spite of frequent power cuts, airport authorities have not thought of having the option of solar lights to guide aircrafts on-ground, so far.
SAMBALPUR: Despite housing the Hirakud dam project which also generates electricity, hundreds of villages in the district continue to be in dark without power. As many as 473 villages in Sambalpur district await electrification even though schemes like Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyuti Karan Yojana (RGGVY) and Biju Gram Jyoti Yojana have been launched.

The Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) today said, it was estimated that around 5,000 mega watt (Mw) of power can be generated through wind energy in Tamil Nadu. Hyderabad, June 16: Twenty-five per cent of the power generated by the 1040 MW power plant of the Hinduja Group at Visakhapatnam will be given to the APTransco while the remaining 75 per cent will be sold in the open market. APTransco has approved this proposal and has sent it to the government for ratification.
