NTPC hopes to start on 500-Mw project in Sri Lanka by Feb-end

Environmental Authority to fine roadside garbage dumpers
The Central Environmental Authority (CEA) is in the process of drawing up plans to fine those who litter garbage along the roadside in order to curb health hazards and other inconveniences caused to the public as a result of people dumping garbage along key roads, Chairman of the CEA Professor W. Work begins on Northern irrigation projects
The Re-awakening Project launched under the Nation Building and Estate Infrastructure Development Ministry with World Bank financial assistance has taken the initiative to rehabilitate the main four irrigation schemes in the Northern Province at a cost of Rs 835 million, Project Director P.H.
