High Court adjourns SEZ pleas

GMC still grappling with biomedical waste
The Goa Medical College (GMC) & Hospital at Bambolim is still grappling with the problem of biomedical waste and treatment even as it has made some improvements in the existing treatment facilities following a notice from the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB). Two Board officials, who inspected the hospital on June 9, found that plasma pyrolis plant was not in operation.

Panchayats flout HC order on waste
In complete defiance of the High Court order, Village Panchyats (VPs) have done nothing to either set up composting stations or collect plastic and dispose it off. The inspection report of the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) submitted to the Court on Monday indicated that VPs are yet to realise the gravity of the problem.
