Voicing its opposition to the proposed Regional Plan 2021, the special gram sabha at Kalay village in Sanguem has passed a resolution seeking a three-month period to place their objections before authorities. During the gram sabha, residents complained that the plan was flawed and was solely based on satellite pictures.

The Cabinet has given its nod for going ahead with the proposal for availing coal block in Chhattisgarh. Disclosing this to reporters, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat said that Goa was the only State so far, which had not even applied for a coal block. The Centre awards coal blocks to every State, in various parts of the country, and whatever coal is mined is used at the plant to generate power.
