1.87 lakh mt food-grains to BPL

The State Government has allotted 1 lakh 87 thousand 193 metric tonne food-grains for the BPL consumers in all the districts. This allotment will be distributed in July and August. On each ration card, the consumers will be provided 35-35 kg food grains including wheat and rice for two months. 53 Lakh BPL Card-Holders To Be Benefited As many as 53 lakh 48 thousand 510 BPL card-holders will be benefited in the State. The Central Government has allotted 89 thousand 18 metric tonne food-grains under BPL scheme while an allotment of 98 thousand 175 metric tonne is on ad hoc basis. Thus, a total of one lakh 87 thousand 193 metric tonne food grains has been allotted. Each BPL consumer will be provided 35 kg food-grains. Allotment Of Food-Grains As Per Choice Notably, the food-grains are provided in the districts as per choice of BPL consumers according to their eating habits. Therefore, both wheat and rice are included in monthly supply of 35 kg food-grains. As per the choice, rice 30 kg and 5 kg wheat are being distributed in Umaria, Anuppur, Shahdol, Balaghat, Dindori and Mandla districts, due to maximum consumption of rice in these areas. Similarly, in other districts, the quantity of wheat is more than rice.
