With no feeders, BRT goes nowhere We asked our readers if they would dump their cars to take buses in the BRT corridor. A majority of them have rejected the idea saying the entire project is unjustified and unwanted and should be scrapped immediately No one can dare to dump cars The ill-conceived BRT corridor has time and again proved a nightmare not only for those travelling in the killer fleet, but also for pedestrians. No car owner will dare to dump his vehicle to take a bus on the stretch. Those patronizing the corridor may, no doubt, switch from their cars to helicopters. I R S SAXENA In the present circumstances, I will not dump my car but skip the route. However, I would like to go on foot if I have to cover a short distance. There is no question of taking a bus in the BRT corridor as I am always afraid of travelling in Delhi buses. I K C MAKHIJANI Buses plying on the BRT stretch can't take people where they want to go. There are no feeder arrangements beyond BRT. So how can the government expect anyone to shift from cars to buses? I VINIT TANEJA Govt should shift the bus lane Government should shift the bus lane to extreme left so that everyone is comfortable. This will solve everyone's problem. I A P PAWAR Cars have their own usefulness The government cannot force BRT on citizens. Cars have their own usefulness. Because of daily traffic jams on the stretch, I stopped using the route. Instead, I take longer, alternate routes. I CHITRANJAN KHANDAL No one can dump car for bus as we know the value of privacy and independence.I JAIDEEP SINGH Hassle-free travel Yes, I prefer BRT corridor to other routes. BRT provides a safe and hassle-free journey that Delhiites have ever had. It is gradually touching the hearts of the people. I SANTOSH KUMAR MISHRA The success of Delhi Metro in converting people from car travellers to users of public transport can be replicated in case of BRT too. I personally have very high hopes form BRT. This despite the fact that there are some teething troubles at the moment. I AJAY Yes I would like to go by bus if proper services are provided as it will help in reducing the volume of traffic on road. I VIA SMS It creates inconvenience The BRT project should be scrapped. It is like using people's fund to create inconvenience. The entire plan is unjustified, unwanted and total waste of time and money, especially in a place like Delhi. Instead, the government should plan and focus on building two or three-storey flyovers. I GIRISH KUMAR A project without planning I will not leave car to take a bus in the corridor. Government has implemented it without proper planning. I VIA SMS When one cannot reach the central corridor, there's no question of dumping car. I S C CHADHA I will never take a bus unless they are as well maintained like Metro train. I AMIT SOOD I won't dump car. Does the government expect me to walk after getting off the bus at the end of the stretch. I JIJINA
