Post-BRT corridor the commuters travelling between Ambedkar Nagar and Moolchand section have started giving a damn care attitude towards the road and traffic signals. While the Government has expressed its obstinacy in not restoring the road structure of 5.8 km between Ambedkar Nagar to Moolchand, commuters too have resorted to reckless driving 'to exhibit their protest against the corridor'. "What can I do? The waiting time at most of the traffic signals on this stretch is more than half an hour. Also, the traffic marshals are themselves confused on giving directions. We have to reach office also," said Ashok Kumar, an officegoer, caught jumping the traffic signal near Sheikh Sarai Phase II. He said that there was no point in following these rules when the system itself is faulty and targets the car drivers. "My job is more important than being a law-abiding citizen. And that too when I am aware it will be a daily affair," he added. Many people were even seen arguing with the traffic police after being caught violating the traffic norms. This included the car drivers and motorcyclists. Even those riding cycle could be seen passing through the corridor paying least heed to the rules. When asked about the situation of the traffic maintenances at the Ambedkar Nagar point, one of the marshals standing on the traffic signal point said, "we urge people to follow the traffic signals and move only when red light glows but hardly anyone adhere to our instructions."
