Some hilly districts where agriculture production is low have begun to face food crisis quite earlier than they used to previously. Reports from Taplejung say villagers in northern part of the district have been facing food shortage due to snowfall since a month. Similarly, reports from mid-western district of Kalikot say that stocks have exhausted and there is no possibility of immediate supply of food grains. Villagers from remote areas flocked to district headquarters Manma, but were forced to return empty handed since no additional food grains have been supplied by the Nepal Food Corporation (NFC).
