The National Alliance for People's Movements along with other civil society groups has decided to take out a "long march' on the Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) corridor from Ambedkar Nagar to Moolchand on Sunday to protest against the Delhi Government's decision to stop expansion of the project in its existing form. The Alliance has also appealed against any design changes in the corridor. A spokesperson of the Alliance said many of its members had taken rides on the BRT corridor from Ambedkar Nagar to Moolchand after it was opened for trial on April 20 and they felt that the concept was good as it provided road space to every type of road user. The spokesperson said it was disappointing to know that the Delhi Government had stopped the project after having launched it with a lot of publicity and claiming that it would benefit the common man. Apart from the Alliance, some of the other organisations that would join in the march are Urban Women Labour Organisation, Jan Sangharsh Vahini, National Cycle Union, National Domestic Workers' Organisation, Bandhua Mukti Morcha and National Labour Federation.
