Sahay stress on food technology

Ranchi, Dec. 14: Union minister for food processing Subodh Kant Sahay today said India should lay stress on food technology.
Sahay was speaking at the inaugural session of the 51st International Symposium on Advances in Cross-Disciplinary Microbiology: Avenues and Challenges, which kicked off at BIT, Mesra, today. Governor M.O.H. Farook also graced the event, which will conclude on Friday, as the chief guest.
Organised by the Association of Microbiologist of India, the meet will be attended by national and international scientists, students and academics from across the world.
Sahay also announced a slew of initiatives that his ministry was working on, such as introduction of a food law and an autonomous body to regulate food policies at the micro-level.
