It's official now. By deciding to provide more space to cars and doing away with medians in the BRT stretch beyond Moolchand, the government has virtually admitted that the apprehensions expressed by TOI since 2006 about the project were well-informed and valid. We had our ear to the ground with inputs from experts and our readers. In the new design being proposed for what is being described as the Pilot B stretch, the concrete medians segregating the bus lanes from the MV lanes have been done away with and the situation has basically reverted back to what it was in the pre-BRT days. Okay, with cycle tracks having been added. The admission has come after 20 days of trial runs even as we reported that pained by the BRT experience, traffic was shifting to other roads, creating congestion and defeating the very purpose of the project
