Sas Nagar- Transporters in Mohali have become so powerful that despite written orders being issued forbidding parking of heavy vehicles at the Phase 2 market, half a dozen buses can be seen parked in the area every day, clearly flouting orders. The cleaning and repair work of these buses also take place in the parking area. The shopkeepers in the market say that if they try to tell the transporters about the rules that are stated clearly on the board at the entrance of the market, they are threatened with dire consequences. The whole parking area is in a poor shape due to the heavy vehicles and nobody has been deputed to take care of the parking area. Shopkeepers also say that customers shy away from this market. DC Mohali Rahul Bhandari said that he would immediately take action in this regard and would direct the District Transport Officer to take action against these offenders.
