Cleaner fuel will cost 40p more from April 1
New Delhi: Consumers will have to fork out up to 40 paise a litre more for motor fuels in 13 cities that will upgrade to Euro-IV quality. Petroleum secretary S Sundareshan on Monday confirmed that the government was considering a differential pricing for Euro-IV petrol and diesel but declined to say by how much the prices would be higher from Euro-III fuels being sold now.

Marginal rise likely in petrol, diesel prices from April 1
Sujay Mehdudia NEW DELHI: As the country prepares to switch over to the Euro IV standard fuel regime from April 1, 2010, petrol prices in Delhi and Mumbai and 12 other metro cities are likely to be increased by Rs.0.41 a litre and diesel by Rs.0.26 a litre from the same day, Petroleum Secretary S. Sundareshan said on Wednesday.

Partial rollback in LPG hike, no relief for diesel
New Delhi: Cooking gas prices will go up by Rs 27.50 per cylinder, instead of the Rs 40 hike proposed in the Delhi budget. Bowing to popular sentiment, the city government went into rollback mode on Monday, waiving the 5% value added tax on LPG. Also exempted from VAT were CNG, tea, coffee and some other items, whose prices will now remain unchanged.
