Corporation told to file affidavit
KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the Kochi Corporation to file an affidavit regarding the steps taken by it for the collection and disposal of garbage in the city. The affidavit should specifically state as to whether or not the Corporation has been deputing staff for collection of garbage from each household.

Coca-Cola denies excessive use of groundwater
PALAKKAD: The Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Limited has in a statement said that the allegations of excessive usage of groundwater by the company is baseless. This has been substantiated by studies conducted by all expert bodies, it added. In an official statement by the company, it said that the plant at Plachimada in Kerala has not been operational since March 9,2004.

Forest Department extends deadline
