KOCHI: The Kerala High Court on Friday directed the Kochi Corporation to file an affidavit regarding the steps taken by it for the collection and disposal of garbage in the city. The affidavit should specifically state as to whether or not the Corporation has been deputing staff for collection of garbage from each household.

This has been substantiated by studies conducted by all expert bodies, it added. THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Elephant owners in the State have been given a temporary reprieve. The Forest Department, through a recent Government Order, has extended the last date for the implant of microchips in captive elephants to November 15. The original deadline had expired on June 30.
