The problems and the difficulties being faced by the Scheduled Tribes and tribal areas in the country, which are sought to be addressed by the National Tribal Policy 2006, are likely to undergo a change with the passage of time. The issues which are besetting the Scheduled Tribes and the tribal areas at present may be resolved to some extent and new issues and problems may emerge. It may not therefore be prudent to have an immutable National Tribal Policy.

In response to the reports on fire incidents in CNG buses in Delhi, EPCA had constituted an expert committee on May 2, 2006 to investigate the problem.
