Occupational Health Day celebrations
PANJIM: Occupational Health Day is commemorated every year on July 9. Inspectorate of Factories & Boilers, Govt of Goa in association with Green Triangle Society an NGO dedicated towards promotion of Occupational Safety, Health and Environment and Rotary Club of Panjim, will celebrate Occupational Health Day by organizing a Seminar on Wednesday, July 9 from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm at Conference Hall, Inspectorate of Factories & Boilers. No compensation for unapproved works in SEZs'
On media reports that Goa would have to pay compensation to the notified SEZs for the Centre to de-notify them, GPCC chief and South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha said the government would pay but the question is how much. He asserted that compensation should not be paid for works undertaken by the SEZ promoters where they didn't obtain approvals. Why should Goa pay for works, which have no approvals, he asked.
