Food management in India: Potential and challenges

The economic stability of the country depends to a great extent on the management of its food economy. In this paper an attempt has been made to study various aspects of and factors affecting food management in India in the light of the changing global food scenario. The earlier part of the paper deals with the major aspects of the food management such as trends in production, the potential production and buffer stock operations of the government.
