We have issued directives to all the 24 districts for organising small functions in both urban and rural areas while beginning the distribution of rice and wheat on October 11,” he said. He added that loopholes are being plucked and that action would taken against officials indulging in malpractices. Roy said that attempts were being made for providing ration cards to all the beneficiaries by October 10. "There will be around 21,000 public distribution outlets across the State. All the ration outlets will have list of beneficiaries in order to avoid any anomalies. The special officer rationing and distrtict supply officers have been asked to include the names of beneficiaries who have been left out. We want that benefit should be availed by actual beneficiaries," the minister added. In view to a notification issued by the Chief Secretary's office on May 12 regard the Food Safety Act, Roy said that the notification had asked the deputy commissioners and deputy development commissioners to inspect the public distribution outlets in their respective districts and sent compliance report to the Government.
