For more than 25 years, the Union Carbide (UCIL) factory has been contaminating the land and water of Bhopal. Latest tests show that groundwater in areas even three km away from the factory contains almost 40 times more pesticides than Indian standards.

Degress of TPP suppressible resistance acquired by Aphis gossypil Glover to selected insecticides

Studies were conducted on the occurence of metabolic mediated resistance in cotton aphid, Aphis gossypil to selected insecticides viz., endosulfan, monocrotophos, dimethoate, phosphamidon, carbaryl and cypermethrin using synergist TPP suppressible metabolic resistance even at 1:5 ratio in respect of monocrotophos and cypermethrin.
