Capital Development Authority (CDA) is planning to launch Carbon Credit Project to make Islamabad a carbon neutral city. The project is aimed at decreasing carbon emissions in the city and controlling global warming. The CDA has identified some sources to utilise them for carbon credits, said Sajjad Shah, CDA Environment Wing
Not a waste of energy. To say energy efficiency is vital for human welfare is a truism. Developed and developing nations may quarrel over targets linked to carbon emissions reduction. But neither doubts it must contribute to realising such cuts by conserving energy.
environment Jaipur halts limestone mining The Rajasthan government has denotified the region in and around Jaisalmer for limestone mining. The deal, signed in Warsaw, is the fourth for the Japanese government following similar agreements with Hungary, Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
A new study by Chris Weber et al. estimates that up to a third of China's CO2 emissions are embodied in exports. The emissions calculations include both combustion of fuels and industrial processes in the supply chain to produce Chinese exports. 27% of China's export emissions are attributed to the U.S., 19% to the EU-27, 14% to the remaining Annex B countries, and 40% to the non-annex B developing world. Improvements to China's inefficient and coal-based electricity system would be good for everybody.
This case study analyzes the costs and benefits of alternative strategies for mitigating the impact of drought on rural livelihoods in Uttar Pradesh. It explores both insurance mechanisms for spreading drought risk and, as an alternative, the development of groundwater irrigation for eliminating such risk.

Telecom tower companies are beginning to use green and efficient alternatives in renewable energy, especially in rural areas where electricity is scarce, opening up new business avenues worth over $1 billion for clean energy equipment makers. Indian telecom infrastructure companies, including Indus Towers, American Tower Company, GTL and Viom Networks (erstwhile Tata Quippo), that depend heavil
London: The demand for water in the world may exceed its supply by 40% within the next 20 years due to global warming and population growth, scientists have warned. As looming water shortages threaten agriculture, industry and the communities, a new way of thinking about water is highly essential, suggested the experts who gathered at an international meeting in Canada.

Access to safe and affordable water is considered to be a basic human right, yet the universal reality does not reflect this principle. A lack of adequate capacity and financing, and national policies which often rely on unsustainable use of water resources, prevent effective and sustainable provision of safe water and sanitation.
The energy revolution is an independently produced report that provides a practical blueprint for how to half global CO2 emissions, while allowing for an increase in energy consumption by 2050. By dividing the world into 10 regions, with a global summary, it explains how existing energy technologies can be applied in more efficient ways.
